We hear – not only with the ears. About our skeleton and resonances in our body much more senses are adressed lying on a sound-couch by vibro-acoustic way. If the body gets in resonance with a sound, different body parts oscilate more or less strongly. Deep tones move rather big hollow cavities, muscle groups and organs into resonance. Higher oscillations stimulate smaller body structures. On a sound couch all senses feel and hear together at the same time. This state of unusual and also enlarged perception is felt generally as extremely relaxing. Therefore,You find sound couches more and more spreading, in the wellness empire as well as in the therapeutic area.

There are two basically different attempts for the construction of sound couches. Im the first matter the sounds is generated like classical instruments works: with swinging strings and sound bodies. The otherones use electromechanical sound converters, from loudspeakers for car hifi up to 'Biofeedback sensors' which are installed either to modified massage lying or luxuriously in a dome for integrated lighting effects. Therefore, the purchase prices lie between 3,600, - and 50,000 euro.

At the systems with electromechanical sound converters counts the flexibility in use application of different compositions, the possibility frequency-precise single tones and also – not too last – the usability on the positive side. However, for some therapists the question positions itself whether they want to allow to have also in addition to vibration and acoustics the effect from the electromagnetic and electric-dynamic fields on her clients.

The sounds and vibrations which originate from oscillations of strings and resonance bodies are with the mixture from higher to lower tones and main frequency similar to the oscillations in the human body. The sound lying which are built as a Polychord or Monochord (as for example the harp or the Zitter under the classical instruments) gives everybody which lies on them, the same frequency. Of cause of her construction they are not tuneable on the frequency of the users.
By a chromatically tuneable instrument can be adapted - as by the electric-acoustically pursued couches - the used frequency individually. However, this fundamental advantage is bought by a more difficult use.

As a new variation I have developed - originally for myself - a sound couch on the base from (chromatically tuneable) stringed instrument with resonance body, in with few handles a special sound converter / loudspeaker system can be adapted.
